So here we are. The first blog post. From the first prayer to the first board meeting from the first donation to the first kid sent to school, there have been many, many firsts over the last year. No doubt, there will be many more in the coming years as well. I am looking forward to our first feeding program, our first building project, and our first medical clinic. I am looking forward to our first trip to Honduras, and I am especially looking forward to YOUR first trip to Honduras.
Firsts can be scary. Actually, let me rephrase that. Firsts ARE scary. Remember the first day of school? The first day at a new job? First date? Of course, firsts are not always that intense. It could be the first time trying a new recipe, or your first time playing a new game. No matter how big or how small a first is, it’s always scary. What if something goes wrong? What if I mess up? What if I am not good enough? These are some of the things that make firsts scary.
I would be lying if I tried to pretend this did not apply to me. With all these firsts comes all these doubts. I am petrified to be honest. I am scared of the unknown. I am scared of not being wise enough or knowledgeable enough. I am scared I will let everyone down. This is why I am so thankful for all of you. With people on your side helping and encouraging us the fear subsides, and the issues lessen. Words cannot express how much people on your side help. I know you have felt this way in life as well.
I would like to say thank you to all of you who have made this possible. Those who have helped in so many ways. I would like to thank all the board members who have given their time and expertise to make Fe Esperanza Amor happen. I would like to thank all of you who have prayed for me and encouraged me when everything seemed like it might fall apart at any time. I want to thank those who have believed that this could be done. I want to thank those that have given their time and money to help those in need in Honduras. I want to thank you for trusting me.
I believe that Fe Esperanza Amor is the start of something awesome. I also believe that it is only possible with the help of many people. Many hands helping and giving and praying and going. It is my hope and my prayer that together we are starting off on a great adventure, filled with many great things, many amazing things, and many miracles. I am so glad for you joining with me in this endeavor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
